1. The City of Minneapolis will invest $3 million in the elimination of lead poisoning in rental homes. Mayor Jacob Frey announced the city will use American Rescue Plan Act funds to pay for the plan to eradicate childhood lead poisoning by 2035. (CBS)
2. Less than half the state’s eligible population is up to date on its COVID-19 vaccine series, according to Minnesota Department of Health data. About 83 percent of eligible Minnesotans older than 65 are up to date on booster shots. (BMTN)

3. The heat index will approach 100 today in the Twin Cities. The high will reach into the 90s but lower temperatures are expected through the weekend. (Patch)
4. Frontline workers will soon be able to apply for bonus checks from the state through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry. The application is not yet open, but the department announced criteria for eligible residents to receive a $750 check. (Patch)
5. The Wild will take on the Blues tonight for game six of the first round of the NHL play-offs. St. Louis leads the series 3-2. (FOX9)
