1. A Minneapolis father has been charged with second-degree manslaughter after his 12-year-old son shot and killed his younger brother. Police said Brandon L. Mayberry’s older son found a gun under his father’s pillow and it went off when he dropped it, killing his younger brother. (Patch)

2. A federal judge accepted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin's guilty plea in violating George Floyd's civil rights in 2020. Chauvin was sentenced to 20-25 years in prison and is already serving a 22-year sentence for his murder conviction in Floyd's death. (Patch)

3. Bear sightings are being reported around the Twin Cities area, CBS reports. According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, bears have been spotted in Hackensack, Forest Lake, Ham Lake and Minnetonka. (CBS)
