These Were Hennepin County Library’s Most Borrowed Books Of 2024: LIST

MINNEAPOLIS — Hennepin County Library patrons checked out more than 11.3 million physical and digital items across the system from January through November 2024.

"A quick analysis of the top titles from the year shows us that the 'romantasy' category, as well as more stories and more voices from indie publishers, have been growing in popularity," noted Kay Yang Cha, the library’s adult fiction selector.

There were also more mystery and science fiction titles and new authors hitting the shelves this year, according to the county's librarians.

"Hennepin County readers love their library system and are on track to surpass last year’s circulation numbers," said Scott Duimstra, library director. "Year after year, Hennepin County readers visit the library to find inspiration, attend programs and events, and checkout books on their reading list."
