Metro Service Suspended In Twin Cities Due To 'Communications Error'

The suspension, which affects light rail service, will be in place until further notice, transit officials said.

Update, 2:23 p.m.: Service has resumed on the Blue Line and Green Line. Previously-scheduled replacement bus service continues to operate Stadium Village to Union Depot.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Light rail service in the Twin Cities was suspended Saturday afternoon after Metro Transit authorities said the organization experienced a "critical communications error."

According to an advisory posted shortly after 1 p.m., service was suspended until further notice.

"Technicians are working to diagnose the issue and restore service," Metro Transit officials said in a statement on social media. "For alternate service in the Blue Line corridor, D Line buses are available. For service to St Paul, customers can look to Route 3. Green Line replacement service from Stadium Village to Union Depot (previously scheduled) remains unaffected."
