Nancy Eustis Named Volunteer Of The Year At The Kenwood Senior Living
According to the Corporation for National and Community Service the Minneapolis area ranked first in volunteerism. Nancy is one reason why.
Lowry Hill Volunteer Nancy Eustis has been named “Volunteer of the Year” at a volunteer appreciation social held during National Volunteer Month on Thursday, April 18, at The Kenwood Senior Living, 825 Summit Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
According to a survey by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the Minneapolis-St. Paul area ranked first in volunteerism for the entire country. Nancy Eustis is one reason why.
She has lived at The Kenwood since 1997. Eustis has volunteered throughout the community in many ways. For three years, she was president of the Residents Council, convened creative writing classes and the newsletter committee, and every other week she leads discussions on current events.

“I like that I’ve found a way to give back,” she said. “Volunteering at The Kenwood keeps me learning and being with people.”
National Volunteer Week’s purpose is to celebrate and recognize the contributions of volunteers. It is an opportunity to join the impact of volunteerism and encourage more people to get involved in their communities. National Volunteer Week in the United States was first established via a Presidential Proclamation signed by Richard Nixon in 1974.

“Nancy is best at looking out for the betterment of our community and finds many ways to share her talents and experiences,” said Jennifer Volkenant, executive director, The Kenwood. “She is delightful to work with in any capacity, and we feel fortunate to know her.”
The Kenwood Senior Living, located in the Lowry Hill neighborhood within the Calhoun-Isles community, is a rental retirement community which provides independent living and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services.
