North Minneapolis' Food Bank Eatery is on a mission to provide free meals for children (cbsnews.com) — Families in North Minneapolis can count on free, freshly cooked meals for kids at Food Bank Eatery on Lyndale Avenue, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Started by local women, the eatery pivoted from food truck to storefront and now focuses on feeding children hit hard by reduced SNAP benefits, while inviting community donations to expand its reach.

2. Could more public bathrooms be on the way to Minneapolis? (kare11.com) — Minneapolis leaders are moving ahead with a plan to add at least five public restrooms along the Nicollet Avenue corridor, funded with $700,000 redirected from a shelved streetcar project. The proposal, now folded into next year’s budget, awaits Mayor Jacob Frey’s decision this week and aims to curb downtown public urination while improving access for visitors and residents alike.

Man gets nearly 7 years for punch that lead to victim's death (kstp.com) — A Minneapolis assault on the 2500 block of Lyndale Avenue South in February has led to a nearly seven-year prison sentence for 43-year-old Coby Levan Richardson, who pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter. Police found victim Clay Anderson unconscious in a parking lot; he later died from his injuries after being punched and hitting his head during the confrontation.
