1. North Minneapolis' Food Bank Eatery is on a mission to provide free meals for children (cbsnews.com) — Families in North Minneapolis can count on free, freshly cooked meals for kids at Food Bank Eatery on Lyndale Avenue, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Started by local women, the eatery pivoted from food truck to storefront and now focuses on feeding children hit hard by reduced SNAP benefits, while inviting community donations to expand its reach.
   

2. Could more public bathrooms be on the way to Minneapolis? (kare11.com) — Minneapolis leaders are moving ahead with a plan to add at least five public restrooms along the Nicollet Avenue corridor, funded with $700,000 redirected from a shelved streetcar project. The proposal, now folded into next year’s budget, awaits Mayor Jacob Frey’s decision this week and aims to curb downtown public urination while improving access for visitors and residents alike.
   

3. Rep. Omar Honors Minneapolis Fire Department's First All-Native Fire Crew on the House Floor (house.gov) — Minneapolis residents have a new point of pride in public safety: the city’s first all-Native fire crew serving South Minneapolis from Fire House Number Six. Rep. Ilhan Omar recently honored the four-member Engine 10 team on the U.S. House floor, highlighting their work responding to emergencies and building trust by showing up at community events and inspiring local kids.
   

4. Man gets nearly 7 years for punch that lead to victim's death (kstp.com) — A Minneapolis assault on the 2500 block of Lyndale Avenue South in February has led to a nearly seven-year prison sentence for 43-year-old Coby Levan Richardson, who pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter. Police found victim Clay Anderson unconscious in a parking lot; he later died from his injuries after being punched and hitting his head during the confrontation.
