In order for the completed project to be viable long-term, the unanticipated soil conditions require more intense remediation. While some areas have required a specialized treatment to stabilize the underlying soil, other areas necessitating soil correction have required the contractor to designate a significant amount of time to allow the soil to dry prior to paving the roadway.

This soil correction work has resulted in periods of time where crews were not actively working on-site while waiting for the soils to dry. However, this downtime is necessary for the long-term durability and success of the project.
