Pockets of Minnesota Starting to See Fall Colors

Pockets of Minnesota are starting to burst forth in fall colors, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources latest weekly map update. 
Some areas in the state, mostly in the north, are registering fall leaves at 25 to 50 percent towards peak colors. 
Tree leaf colors typically peak by early October in northern and central Minnesota and by mid-October in the southern part of the state. 

In the Roseville area, there will be plenty of areas for viewing the changing colors including Central Park and the Harriet Alexander Nature Center. 

In addition to the weekly online reports, the DNR offers fall colors “to go” on a mobile website compatible with smart phones and tablets.

These reports include percent of color change, integrated with Google maps.

The DNR is predicting a “brilliant” fall colors season.
