Roseville Brewery Pour Decisions Gains Final Inspection Approval

The brewery will hold a grand opening in the coming weeks.

Pour Decisions Brewery, the Roseville project of two U of M beer hobbyists, received final overall inspection approval on Wednesday and will be holding a grand opening shortly.

In July the Roseville Council created a special "taproom" liquor license for the brewery and in late August they debuted their brews at the State Fair.

Co-founder Kristen England told Roseville Patch in September that their mission is to brew styles popular abroad but unavailable in the Twin Cities while keeping the beer’s flavors enjoyable to a mild Midwestern palate.

“I’ve had the opportunity to travel all around the world and go to different countries and try different beers that you can’t buy within, say, 20 miles away from the area,” he told Roseville Patch. “Our beers are not necessarily eclectic and they’re not necessarily weird or extremely different. But the combination of flavors and the types of beers just aren’t made anywhere else.”

We'll be at Pour Decisions' grand opening. But in the meantime., here's Pour Decisions' descriptions of its first two beers to make your mouth water:

Patersbier 5.7% 41bu
A Belgian Monk’s daily ale. Everyone has heard the story of monk’s drinking strong beers for Lent. Well, this is the beer they usually drink on a regular day. The Patersbier starts with perfumed floral hops, ripe pomme fruit, spice and candied citrus; there’s a honeyed malt character on a dry, crisp finish.

Pubstitute 2.9% 15bu
Our Scottish Pubstitute pours a bright mahogany. You’ll find notes of chewy English biscuits, figs, plums, dark caramel, toffee with a hint of roast cocoa dryness. It’s velvety smooth, creamy yet light, and absurdly drinkable; its massive flavor profile belies its measured strength.
