📰 News we're reading

• Minnesota Valley Transit Authority is proposing route changes, asking riders to weigh in (startribune.com) — Shakopee bus riders could lose weekend service on Routes 497 and 499 this spring, with MVTA proposing cuts, mergers, and frequency changes that would shift many trips to its on‑demand Connect service. Residents can give feedback at meetings Tuesday at the Scott County Government Center and Thursday at the Marschall Road Transit Station, both in Shakopee, or online before final decisions are made.

• University of Minnesota Men's Gymnastics Club finds new home in St. Paul (twincities.com) — Local gymnastics fans will get a close-up look when the University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Club hosts home meets at Shakopee High School in early January. The team has a new training home in St. Paul, blending elite college athletes with young recreational gymnasts, and is rebuilding its program after losing Division I status and its longtime Cooke Hall facility.
