16 Minneapolis Schools On Latest COVID-19 Outbreak List

MINNEAPOLIS — Over 400 Minnesota K-12 schools have experienced a COVID-19 outbreak recently, including 16 schools in Minneapolis, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

These Minneapolis schools are on the list, which was updated Thursday:

• Anthony Middle School, Minneapolis
• Barton Open Elementary, Minneapolis
• Dowling Elementary, Minneapolis
• Edison Senior High, Minneapolis
• Hmong International Academy, Minneapolis
• Jefferson Elementary, Minneapolis
• Kenny Elementary, Minneapolis
• Kenwood Elementary, Minneapolis
• Marcy Open Elementary, Minneapolis
• Minnehaha Academy Mid & Lower Schools, Minneapolis
• North Academy Senior High, Minneapolis
• Sanford Middle, Minneapolis
• Southwest High School, Minneapolis
• Twin Cities International Schools, Minneapolis
• Washburn Senior High, Minneapolis
• Yinghua Academy, Minneapolis

A school has an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period.

"School buildings listed may not have ongoing transmission," MDH noted. "School buildings that have not reported a new case for 28 days will be removed. If five or more cases are reported in a school building in a subsequent 2-week period, they will once again be listed."
