Zach is an outstanding student who has competed in football and track and played at the highest levels of orchestra during his high school career. He is self driven, taking multiple AP classes, and private viola and guitar lessons. He plays viola in the concert orchestra, and then plays electric guitar in his band. His love of music bands from classical to modern. His thirst to learn is inspiring and exhausting because he never stays at one place for long. He’s always running to a track meet, a music lesson, studying, or working his restaurant job.
He does all of this while maintaining. a 4.0+ GPA.
He’s the kindest young man and has always there to help when someone is in need. He puts in the hard work to excel in so many areas. Diagnosed with chronic tic disorder at an early age, still manages to keep a positive outlook and sense of humor, not letting it rule his life. He is truly charting his own course and really living his life. Zach will be attending University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a double major in mechanical engineering and music performance.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?
He was selected as an alternate for the national youth orchestra, a high honor that culminates with a performance at Carnegie Hall. While not selected, this is a testament to how great of a player he is. However, Zach is so humble he doesn’t feel the need to tell anyone about his accomplishments. He just loves music.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Zachary!
