📰 News we're reading

• Stillwater pitches plans to solve parking problems (startribune.com) — New parking rules are coming to downtown Stillwater, with four-hour limits in all free city lots and clearer pricing and zones for paid street and lot parking. City officials say the changes, plus a new lot opening next year and updated QR-code signage, aim to reduce confusion, cut down on scams, and make it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy the riverfront without parking headaches.

• Stillwater gets $1.25 million to replace lead lines (hometownsource.com) — Stillwater will receive nearly $1.25 million to replace 97 lead service lines, improving the safety of local drinking water. The grant comes through Minnesota’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program, backed by state funds and the federal Infrastructure and Jobs Act, and is part of a broader effort to upgrade water infrastructure in 26 cities statewide.

• Nordic skiing: Ponies sweep snowy season opener (hometownsource.com) — Stillwater’s boys and girls Nordic ski teams opened their season with commanding Suburban East Conference wins at Les Bolstad Golf Course, led by standout finishes from George Nelson and Greta Shockey. Despite heavy snow and tough conditions, the Ponies packed the top of the results sheet, signaling another strong winter for Stillwater skiing fans to follow.
