• County Board conducts public budget meeting on proposed 2026 budget (cottagegrovejournal.news) — Washington County commissioners met at the Government Center in Stillwater to review a proposed 6.95% property tax levy increase and a 2026 budget that funds core services, capital projects, and human services. They also extended housing grant administration, approved new child support and drug task force funding, strengthened anti–sex trafficking lodging rules, and honored therapy dog K9 Rookie’s retirement.
