STILLWATER, MN — Stillwater looks set for some beautiful weather — and some thunderstorms — over the Memorial Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 80s Saturday and Sunday, with a high of 90 degrees Monday, which is Memorial Day. But it’s not all good news for those planning Memorial Day cookouts and events, with rain and thunderstorms dotting the holiday weekend forecast for Stillwater.

The city is “likely” to see rain and thunderstorms Saturday morning, while there is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday and a 50 percent chance Sunday night into Monday, the NWS said.

Storms could resume in Stillwater on Monday afternoon, though temperatures are forecast to reach up to 90 degrees in the city. Hail and damaging winds are also possible Monday night, the NWS said.

Stillwater Memorial Day Ceremony To Honor Fallen Soldiers Monday

The Stillwater Veterans Memorial is set to host the city's annual Memorial Day ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Monday to honor local residents who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The ceremony — featuring singers and a band, a speaker, and a flyover — is expected to last around an hour.
