Alcohol Suspected In Crash Killing 23-Year-Olds From Woodbury, Oakdale

Two 23-year-old passengers were killed in the crash Friday and the driver, also 23, suffered serious injuries.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MN — Alcohol and speed were a factor in a northern Minnesota crash that left two 23-year-old passengers dead and the driver in critical condition on Friday, according to investigators.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office identified the deceased as Joseph David Trowbridge of Woodbury and Madison Joy Warren of Oakdale. The crash happened just outside the town of Floodwood.

At about 2:45 p.m. Friday, county deputies responded to an automated 911 call from an iPhone stating that the owner was involved in a severe crash.

Deputies found the car on a curve near the 11500 block of Highway 8 in Floodwood.

Trowbridge and Warren were found dead while the driver — Darren Andrew Tenney, 23, of New Richmond —was seriously injured.

Tenney was airlifted to a nearby hospital and was stabilized, authorities said.
