Amazon To Open Distribution Center In Woodbury Next Year: Report

The new Woodbury facility is expected to create 500 new jobs, which could rise to about 1,000 jobs during the holidays, the report says.

WOODBURY, MN — Amazon is preparing to open a new distribution center next year in Woodbury, according to a report.

The Woodbury Planning Commission in August approved Ryan Companies’ proposal to build a distribution center on a 73-acre site at the intersection of Hudson Road and Manning Avenues, the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reported at the time.

The developer’s proposal was known as “Project Belle” during the planning-approval process, as the commission would not reveal the identity of the tenant.

Woodbury officials on Monday said Amazon will move into the facility when it is completed next summer, the Twin Cities Pioneer Press reports.

The 517,000-square-foot Woodbury facility is expected to create about 500 new jobs, which could rise to about 1,000 jobs during the holiday season. About 140 trucks will move in and out of the site each day, the report states.
