A significant athletic achievement by two of the WHS students in the MN State High School Clay Target League, Sophomore Ben Jacobus & Senior Jessica Martin.

Woodbury High School won the Conference and these two of the shooters grabbed honors.  Senior Jessica Martin placed third-female in the conference and Sophomore Ben Jacobus is high conference and high in the State overall.  A Woodbury HS State Champ!

The MN League is a Trap League much akin to the Olympic shooting sport (Trap).  WHS Science teacher Herb Struss  has been coach of the team for the fall league. Mr. Struss  has done a wonderful job with the students.

As a backdrop this sport is the fastest growing HS sport.  The spring league had 50 schools participating with nearly 1500 shooters for the competition in Alexandria MN last June.  It has gotten a lot of local air-time from news stations recently.

Congratulations, Jessica, Ben and Coach Struss!!!
