Carver Lake Park Will Reopen To Bikers On November 6

The park closure is necessary to ensure the safety of park users and construction workers.

Carver Lake Park is closed to allow for replacement of retaining walls, parking lots and modifications to the entrance of the park. The park closure is necessary to ensure the safety of park users and construction workers.

The park closure will include the bike park and trails. The playground and picnic shelters are still accessible using the paved trails from the local neighborhoods. Shelter rentals will not be available.

As part of the project, the small parking lot at the top of the hill near the bike park playground will be expanded to 15 parking spaces. In addition, larger parking stalls be added for vehicles with recreational equipment such as kayaks, canoes and bicycles also will be constructed on the west end of the large parking lot, which will be reconfigured to improve traffic flow.

A stormwater catch basin near the entrance to the large parking also will be constructed to better manage storm water flow from the top of the hill. The city received a grant from the Ramsey-Washington Metro Wastershed District for this portion of the project.Please note: In the concept plan below, a picnic shelter is featured. This is not included in this improvement project, but will be including in a future project.
