Format: An open house format will allow citizens to meet informally with staff from MCES and its contractor (Lametti & Sons) to learn about the sewer improvement project and ask questions.

What is the Purpose of the Sewer Improvements?

The purpose of MCES’s Meter Station Improvements Project is to replace and upgrade underground metering equipment that measures the amount of wastewater flowing into our sanitary sewer pipes from your city.  We rely on accurate information from our wastewater meters in order to bill your city properly for the wastewater collection and treatment service that we provide.  The existing meter station will be removed from under the roadway, and a new underground meter station will be constructed on the east side of Century Ave. to allow for safer access for our employees.

Where and When Will the Work Take Place?

The work will take place adjacent to 1130 Century Ave. S.  The work is scheduled to begin on or about June 11, and be completed in October.  We will attempt to re-open the roadway by Labor Day.

We will have to completely close Century Ave. at this location, however we will maintain driveway access for residents on Century Ave.  Thru traffic will be detoured to Highwood Ave., McKnight Rd., and Carver Ave.

Who Pays for the Work?

Be assured that the cost of this project is not assessed to adjacent property owners.  It is spread out among all MCES sewer customers in the metro area.

Safety Reminder:

TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY, WE ARE ASKING THAT YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN AND PETS PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ALL CONSTRUCTION AREAS.
