Here's A Look Into SoWashCo's Upcoming Budget Cuts

The district is facing a budget gap of nearly $9 million.

WOODBURY, MN— The South Washington County school district is facing a budget gap of $9 million for the next school year, The Star Tribune reported.

Enrollment in the district was down over 300 students this year, the publication reported.

Nearly 150 teaching positions will be cut throughout the district, along with administrators, school nurses and classroom paraprofessionals, the publication reported.

Among the cuts will be the band and orchestra programs for elementary school students throughout the district, despite attempts made my parents and community members to save it.
