I-494 Closures Planned Through Mid-June In Woodbury

WOODBURY, MN — Drivers using Interstate 494 in Woodbury should be prepared for lane closures and potential delays for the next few weeks, with Minnesota Department of Transportation crews working to repair the highway.

Southbound I-494 is due to be reduced to two lanes from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily between Tamarack and Lake roads, while the interstate will be reduced to one lane between 9 p.m. and 5 p.m. daily, officials said.

MnDOT officials are also planning a full closure of southbound I-494 lanes from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday between Tamarack and Lake roads.

Drivers will be directed to follow a detour that uses Interstate 94 and Highway 61.

Crews are making repairs to the concrete pavement along southbound I-494, with the work expected to be done by June 15, officials said.
