Maplewood Man Sentenced After Admitting To Pipe Bomb Possession
Federal investigators said they searched the home of Dylan R. Orr after discovering images he sent of pipe bombs.

MAPLEWOOD — A 27-year-old Maplewood man was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison after admitting in court to the illegal possession of a pipe bomb, U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger announced Wednesday.
Dylan R. Orr pleaded guilty on Nov. 9 to one count of possession of an unregistered destructive device.
According to authorities, on April 28, law enforcement executed a search warrant of Orr's home after discovering photos of two pipe bombs sent from Orr’s phone to a third party.

The photos showed small BBs attached to the exterior casing of the pipe bombs, investigators said.
During the search, officers found two six-inch pipes — one with BBs affixed — plus four end caps and explosive powder, according to authorities. The components could be readily converted to a destructive device, prosecutors said.

Orr did not have a registration to possess these devices from the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record as required by law, according to investigators.
