MN Senator Arrested On 1st-Degree Burglary Charge

DETRIOT LAKES, MN — A Minnesota state senator from Woodbury was arrested Monday on suspicion of first-degree burglary in Detriot Lakes, according to court records.

Sen. Nicole Mitchell, 49, is a first-term Democrat.

A woman on the 700 block of Granger Road called police at about 4:45 a.m. to report an active burglary at her home, Detroit Lakes Police told the Star Tribune. Mitchell was arrested at the scene.

Mitchell is a former Twin Cities meteorologist and is an Air Force veteran.
