Packing Heat, Rage on the Roads, Groin Pains: Woodbury Police Blotter

The following information was obtained from recent police reports.

A manager at Rainbow Foods called police after seeing a customer give $20 to a man who said his car ran out of gas. She spotted him at the store pulling the same con the week before.

Police found a Wisconsin man sleeping in the back seat of his pickup truck while it was parked at the Kwik Trip on Hudson Road. He showed minimal signs of intoxication and registered a .08 on a preliminary breath test. He was told to get a room at a nearby hotel.

Officers were unable to locate a woodchuck a woman said got trapped in the egress of a window of a home at the 8500 block of Beacon Road.

A resident called police after seeing a suspicious man with a bulge around his waist at Snap Fitness. Police determined he had locked his keys in his car. The bulge at his waist was a heating pad. Officers unlocked the car for him.

Police were called about a man seen using binoculars to look into the Sprint store.

The Woodbury Fire Department put out a fire that started in a brush pile on Crackleberry Trail.

A manager at the Applebee’s off Valley Creek Road called police to report that a group of young people had apparently brought in their own alcohol and were drinking at a table. Officers arrived and learned the group had dined and dashed, but one man came back in and paid for their meals

A group of people were told that they could not rent a room at the Red Roof Inn as minors, and because they did not have a credit card. They threw a bottle of vodka from their vehicle as they left.

Police responded to a report of domestic assault at a home on Chesham Lane.

Officers were called after a man was seen blocking a driveway along Valley Creek Road and got belligerent when the caller asked what he was doing. He was gone by the time police arrived.

A resident called police after seeing a man apparently trying to pick a lock at a home on Lochaven Place. Police learned it was a man changing the locks on a foreclosed home.

There was a report of someone looking through garbage cans at the 3400 block of Gunston Lane.

There was a report of a fight involving two people at the 10300 block of City Walk Drive.

Police were called to Walmart about an irate customer who was cursing at employees and customer. He possibly grabbed a male employee’s groin and stole items, but denied this to police. He also denied knowing a car full of people who waved and said goodbye to him as they left. He was issued a trespass notice.

Nothing suspicious was found after a resident on Tamberwood Trail called police when she heard a sound similar to her bedroom door handle being turned.

Police were called about a road rage incident sparked over a merging issue at Interstate 494 and Tamarack Road. One driver followed the other, blocked her in at a parking lot and took photos of the vehicle. Officers learned one of the subjects was involved in a 2010 road rage case.

Officers were called about a road rage after a man followed a woman to her home, got out of his car and yelled at her, and insisted that she discuss her driving with him. Police arrived and he was in his car, upset and continuing to stress that he needed to discuss the matter with her. Officers said if he has problems he needs to contact police.

A fight between two roommates at the 1700 block of Century Circle ended with one man being transported to the Washington County Jail on suspicion of assault.
