Rollover Crash Kills Unbelted Man Killed In Maplewood
A man from Anchorage, Alaska was killed in a crash. A woman in the same vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
MAPLEWOOD, MN — A 36-year-old Anchorage, Alaska man not wearing a seatbelt was killed in a rollover crash in Maplewood on Dec. 30, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
An unbelted passenger in the same vehicle — a 31-year-old also from Anchorage — suffered non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
On Saturday just before 2:30 p.m., a Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling at "a high rate of speed" on Highway 61 northbound near County Road C when the vehicle lost control and entered the right ditch sideways, causing it to roll, according to investigators.

The driver and passenger were both ejected and subsequently brought to Regions Hospital for their injuries, the State Patrol said. Conditions at the time of the crash were snowy and icy.
The deceased driver was identified as Her Vang.
