SoWashCo Schools To Host ‘On The Spot’ Hiring Events
In-person job fairs are scheduled for Tuesday, with virtual hiring sessions to be held Thursday.
WOODBURY, MN — The South Washington County Schools district is set to host hiring events next week to fill a wide range of positions across the staff.
The district is seeking new bus drivers and assistants, crossing guards, child care workers, custodians, paraprofessionals and other employees.
Superintendent Julie Nielsen in November warned parents to “prepare for staff shortages” that could force classes to go virtual for up to 10 days after a surge in coronavirus cases among students and employees.

“With the rise in positive cases, finding substitutes is increasingly challenging,” Nielsen said.
“We ask for your grace and patience as these shortages apply to all our staff who keep our school district running,” she wrote to parents.

The R.H. Stafford Library is scheduled to host in-person hiring events from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Park Grove Library in Cottage Grove will also host two similar events, from 12-2 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
The district will conduct on-the-spot interviews as part of a “quick hiring process,” and job seekers do not need to pre-register to attend. District officials are offering signing bonuses to new employees.
The South Washington County Schools district is also set to host three virtual hiring sessions on Thursday, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m.
