Woodbury Boys Lacrosse Loses Consolation Final In 1st State Tournament

The Royals won the Section 3A title June 9 to qualify for the state tournament for the first time in program history.

WOODBURY, MN — The Woodbury High School boys lacrosse team bounced back from a loss in the opening round of the state tournament to reach the consolation final, but fell short in its quest to end its best-ever season on a high.

Woodbury won the Section 3A title June 9 to qualify for the state tournament for the first time in program history. But the Royals’ debut in the state tournament started on a sour note, with a 18-5 defeat to Stillwater last week in the quarterfinals.

That loss dropped the Royals into the consolation bracket, where they beat Moorhead 15-7 on Thursday to book a spot in Saturday’s consolation final.
