Woodbury Fifth-Grader To Compete In Scripps National Spelling Bee
Valley Crossing's Moksh Kanukurthy beat more than three dozen other students to win the Twin Cities Regional Spelling Bee in March.

WOODBURY, MN — A Woodbury elementary student will compete at the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee after winning a regional qualifying tournament last month.
Moksh Kanukurthy, a fifth-grader at Valley Crossing Elementary, beat 43 other students in March to win the Twin Cities Regional Spelling Bee and earn a shot at the national title, according to Metro ECSU, which sponsored the regional qualifier.

Moksh will compete against more than 200 regional spelling bee champions in June at the National Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., his school posted on Facebook
Actor Levar Burton is set to host the 94th Scripps National Spelling Bee, which runs from June 1-2 in the nation’s capital.
