Woodbury Man Ejected In Deadly Single-Car Crash

RED WING, MN — A 54-year-old man from Woodbury died after he was ejected in a single-car crash in Red Wing over the weekend.

On Sunday, just before 11:30 p.m., Kenneth Walton Fritze was driving a Subaru Forester south on Highway 63 across the lift bridge.

The Subaru then hit a roadside barrier, and Fritze was ejected, according to Minnesota State Patrol. He was not wearing a seat belt in the crash, authorities said.

Redwing police, the Goodhue County Sheriff's Office, and Redwing fire responded to the crash.

Fritze was declared dead at the scene.

It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash, according to investigators. Conditions were dry at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
