Woodbury Readers Tell Us Their Favorite Burger Joints

WOODBURY, MN — Last week we posted a story about the top-rated burger joints in Woodbury according to Yelp. Wayback Burgers took the top spot. Some of our local readers begged to differ about this and some of the other results.

O’Malley’s Irish Pub was by far the most egregious omission from the top-ten list, if you ask our Facebook readers. Some choice pull quotes from the relevant thread: “O’Malley’s has the best burgers in town.” “O’Malley’s: hands down the best burger in Woodbury. This list is wrong.” And even: “The owner Todd Hanson is a great guy.”

Culvers was another omission, according to at least one commenter. One person even mentioned The Grill at Jerry’s Foods, a grocery store, as a “hidden gem” for a burger joint. “Best half-pound burgers on a toasted bun with potato wedges.”

The No. 3 burger joint according to Yelp was Smashburger, a chain restaurant. Our readers seemed to agree that it should be mentioned as a top contender. Cravings Wine Bar and Grill, which took Yelp’s #8 spot, was also a point of harmony.
