Woodbury Residents Ticketed for Winter Parking Violations

Residents are reminded to be aware of the city's rules on parking this season.

A number of Woodbury vehicles were recently hit with administrative citations for violating the city's policy on winter parking.

About 25 tickets were handed out over a three-day period this week.

Between Nov. 1 and April 1, on-street parking is prohibited between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. The ordinance is in place to make snow removal more efficient, according to the city.

Also, on-street parking is prohibited any time two or more inches of snow have accumulated. This is in effect until the street has been completely plowed. The two-inch guideline applies to any hour of the day and any time of the year.

Those in violation of the winter parking ordinance are given a $25 administrative citation for the first offense; it doubles with subsequent offenses. They do not appear on driving or criminal records.
