- Four people were injured in a shooting in Hattiesburg over the weekend. Police say the incident occurred on Saturday, Jun. 10, shortly after midnight in the 6100 block of Highway 49 North. One of the victims was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police were still investigating the incident at the time of reporting. (WJTV)
- A Hattiesburg teen is heading to Mobile, Alabama tomorrow (Jun. 14) to compete in a national scholarship competition. Sophie Pitts is one of 50 candidates in the running for the Distinguished Young Woman of America 2023 title. The title includes $155,000 in cash scholarships. (HubcitySPOKES.com)
- The title of Miss Mississippi was awarded to a Hattiesburg native in Vicksburg on Saturday. Vivian O'Neal was previously crowned Miss Pine Belt and says she plans to spend her time as Miss Mississippi preparing for the upcoming Miss America pageant. She is the 90th woman to win the state crown. (WAPT Jackson)
