Ellisville burglary suspect apprehended with stolen guns in Hattiesburg (wjtv.com) — Hattiesburg police say a juvenile was arrested in the city after officers recovered a stolen car and five firearms tied to a commercial burglary in Ellisville. The investigation led from a reported stolen vehicle on North Main Street to a Mamie Street home, where the guns were found and the teen was charged with grand larceny auto and possession of a stolen firearm.

Buddhist monks on Peace Walk stop to meet Mississippi child with special needs (wapt.com) — A Hattiesburg mom says a group of Buddhist monks on a national Peace Walk made an unforgettable detour to bless her special-needs son, Kemper, right in their driveway. Blake Anderson, Southern Miss football coach introduced at press conference (hattiesburgamerican.com) — Southern Miss has officially introduced Blake Anderson as the new head football coach of the Golden Eagles at a press conference in the Thad Cochran Center on campus. Guests shared a meal, celebrated the birth of Jesus, and watched children receive surprise gifts from Santa, offering comfort and support during a difficult season.
