Officials credit professional water and sewer staff plus long-term infrastructure investments, and past scores show steady improvement from earlier issues like high iron levels and missing audits.
   

2. $1.5M economic impact expected for MS/AL All-Star Football Game (wdam.com) — Hattiesburg is hosting the Mississippi/Alabama High School All-Star Football Game today at Southern Miss, and local tourism leaders expect a $1.5 million boost to the city’s economy. Hattiesburg man sentenced to 90 years after being found guilty of crimes connected to child sexual exploitation (wdam.com) — A Hattiesburg man has been sentenced in Forrest County Circuit Court to 90 years in state prison, without the possibility of parole, for distributing and possessing child sexual exploitation material. State investigators, along with Hattiesburg police and the Forrest County Sheriff’s Department, built the case after a national Cybertip. Officials urge residents to report any suspected online child exploitation to the national hotline.
