- On Sunday, five puppies were found unharmed at the Hub City Humane Society after being dropped off overnight in an insubstantial kennel. The person has since been identified and the issue has been discussed with them. As a reminder, the shelter is advising the public that dumping animals is illegal and can be deadly with the rising temperatures. - Rodney Bennett has been appointed as the new chancellor of the University of Nebraska—Lincoln (UNL), succeeding Ronnie Green. Bennett, who previously served as the president of the University of Southern Mississippi, expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead UNL and highlighted his decades of preparation for this role.
