- Research now shows a correlation between heavy drinking and muscle loss. Adults who consumed a bottle of wine a day were shown to have the most muscle loss as seniors. According to The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, 15.0 percent of Forrest County residents drink excessively, and 13.9 percent binge drink. Consuming large quantities of alcohol can be detrimental to your health, and seniors may benefit from quitting drinking altogether. (Deltanews.tv)
- A Hattiesburg man wanted for domestic violence aggravated assault has been discovered in Lauderdale County. David LeKevin Richardson was recently issued a warrant for a domestic violence incident on May 24, 2023. The 22-year-old is now back in police custody facing charges at the Forrest County Adult Detention Center. (WDAM)
- The Hattiesburg Zoo is launching a brand new online ticketing platform on Jun. 5! With the upcoming change, zoo visitors will be able to choose their visit date and purchase tickets in advance. There will be no extra cost for admission tickets purchased through the new site, and Sloth Experiences as well as Pavilion Rentals will be included on the platform. (WJTV)
