• One arrested, one sought in Tuesday robbery (meridianstar.com) — Law enforcement has arrested a Meridian man after an armed robbery Tuesday evening along Highway 19 South, and deputies are still searching for a second suspect. The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department says one suspect was found near Whynot Causeyville Road, and they’re asking anyone with information on the other man’s whereabouts to contact them or East Mississippi Crime Stoppers.
   

• Christmas 2025 ends family's 55-year tradition of displaying large Nativity scene (elkvalleytimes.com) — A longtime local pastor and his wife are ending their 55-year tradition of displaying a large Nativity scene they bought from Sears in Meridian back in 1970. Now in their 80s and facing health challenges, the Hymans say this Christmas will be the last year they can manage the elaborate setup, which has been a meaningful expression of their Christian faith for decades.
   

• Monks' Walk of Peace brings hope to Jackson, Mississippi (wapt.com) — A Meridian resident, Zuley Yepez, is drawing inspiration from a group of Buddhist monks walking for peace as they pass through Jackson, Mississippi, while she prays for safety and justice in her own community. The monks, traveling barefoot or in sandals from Texas, share messages about finding inner peace and resilience, even after hardships like being hit by a car, and are briefly resting in the area before continuing their journey.
