• Meridian Police Department, city announce holiday impaired driving enforcement campaign (meridianstar.com) — Meridian drivers should expect extra police patrols and sobriety checkpoints citywide from Dec. 12 through early January as part of a holiday safety push against impaired driving. Officers will be watching for drunk driving, seatbelt use, and proper child restraints, so residents and visitors are urged to plan sober rides, buckle up, and keep licenses and insurance handy.
   

• Infrastructure improvement progress continues across central Mississippi (meridianstar.com) — Drivers in Meridian should expect ongoing work on I-59/20 as MDOT installs new cameras, message boards, and fiber to improve traffic monitoring and safety through Lauderdale County. The update is part of a broader slate of central Mississippi road and bridge projects, including resurfacing on nearby state routes and major interstate upgrades scheduled to continue over the next several years.
