Window Genie Opens its First Franchise in Mississippi

Window Genie announces the grand opening of its newest location in Meridian on June 19th. Catherine Little is the owner/operator. Window Gene is a national home service franchise specializing in residential and light commercial window cleaning, window tinting, pressure washing, gutter cleaning and more. Window Genie of Meridian will service home and small business owners throughout Meridian, Decatur, Philadelphia and the surrounding areas.

Before purchasing her Window Genie franchise, Little worked in pharmaceutical sales for almost 20 years. “There’s not a lot of security in that industry,” she said. “You’re always looking over your shoulder, wondering if you’ll be laid off next. I had some growing frustrations with corporate America in general, and was tired of working for and earning money for someone else, so I started looking for a new path to build security for my family.” Little decided on business ownership as her means to taking control of her own success, and to create a better lifestyle for her and her family.

Until recently selling off to a large corporation, Catherine’s husband Judge owned and operated his family’s retail sporting goods and equipment business. Little said she was looking for something very different from her Judge’s retail business. “I always felt a desire to be a business owner, but I knew pretty quickly that I wanted a service, not a retail business. I wanted something with low overhead and low inventory. Also, going with a service business meant I would have an opportunity to create a better lifestyle that doesn’t include working nights, weekends or holidays.” Window Genie typically services customers Monday through Friday, between 8am and 5pm.

Window Genie of Meridian officially opens for business on June 19th. Catherine’s 18-24 month goal is to open a second franchise in Jackson, MS. “Once I’ve established a well-run day to day operation here in our hometown of Meridian, we hope to hire someone to manage a second location in the bigger Jackson market,” Little said. “My favorite saying is ‘the harder you work, the luckier you get.’ We’re prepared to work hard, and hopefully get a little lucky along the way. We welcome the challenge, and are willing to do what it takes to be successful and grow the business.”
