On Oct. 24, 2021, at 5:19 a.m., Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to 1118 W. Division St. after a 911 caller said a person had possibly been stabbed. When officers arrived, they located a male and determined he was suffering from a gunshot wound.  The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.    

The victim, identified as 43-year-old Robert Eagleburger, from Springfield, MO, later succumbed to his injuries. Notifications have been made to Mr. Eagleburger’s family.  

Officers determined the shooting occurred at 1122 W. Lynn St. and during the investigation, SPD officers identified a suspect in the case. The suspect has been interviewed; however, no arrest has been made at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and a decision regarding any criminal charges to be filed.
