On Oct. 24, 2021, at 5:19 a.m., Springfield Police Officers were dispatched to 1118 W. Division St. after a 911 caller said a person had possibly been stabbed. When officers arrived, they located a male and determined he was suffering from a gunshot wound. Â The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Â Â
The victim, identified as 43-year-old Robert Eagleburger, from Springfield, MO, later succumbed to his injuries. Notifications have been made to Mr. Eagleburger’s family. Â
Officers determined the shooting occurred at 1122 W. Lynn St. and during the investigation, SPD officers identified a suspect in the case. The suspect has been interviewed; however, no arrest has been made at this time. Once the investigation is complete, the case will be forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and a decision regarding any criminal charges to be filed.  Â
