Missouri Public Transit Association Names Crawford as Board President
Crawford brings his experience to the one-year term

The Missouri Public Transit Association (MPTA) – the state’s transit advocacy organization – has named Matt Crawford, Director of Transit at City Utilities of Springfield, as the President of its Board. He succeeds Taulby Roach, President and CEO of Bi-State Development. Crawford was elected during MPTA’s 2025 Annual Meeting, held the first day of the Midwest Transit Conference, Sept. 3-5 in Kansas City. He will serve a one-year term.
Crawford has more than two decades of experience with City Utilities of Springfield, serving as a Customer Service Representative, Desktop Support Specialist and Transportation Planner, before being named to his current position in December 2018. He has been a member of the MPTA Board since 2019 and over the years has been elected to serve as Secretary and Vice-President.
Crawford received a bachelor’s degree in communications from Drury University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University.

“Matt represents the only medium urban provider in the state and is acutely aware of challenges facing both urban areas and the rural providers,” said Kimberly Cella, executive director of the MPTA. “His expertise will be critical as we move through these challenging times at the state level with regards to transit investment. We look forward to all that will be accomplished under his leadership.”
