Missouri Connections Academy Recognizes St. Louis Student

Top Student Award recognizes achievements in and out of the virtual classroom

Trevon States of St. Louis was recently named one of Missouri Connections Academy’s (MOCA) β€œTop Students” in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the virtual classroom.

β€œWe appreciate the leadership our students demonstrate and their extraordinary commitment to learning and serving as strong role models for their peers,” said Lynsie Hunt, School Leader at Missouri Connections Academy. β€œThe members of our faculty and staff are proud to give these virtual classroom leaders the recognition they deserve.”

Trevon is a junior at Missouri Connections Academy. He came to the online school in 2021 to be in a safe learning environment during the pandemic. According to his mother, Tavida, the transition to learning online was tricky at first, however after Trevon’s freshman year, they got used to the system and it turned out to be great.

β€œMissouri Connections Academy is great school for kids, and I love how involved the teachers are,” Tavida said.

As a β€œTop Student,” Trevon will receive a certificate of achievement and be profiled in the Missouri Connections Academy student newsletter and the school’s social media platforms. Each month during the school year, MOCA will recognize students in grades K through 12 who are excelling in the virtual classroom.
