Flights are also not available on Friday or Sunday and the sale is limited to non-stop trips, which could throw a wrench in any weekend getaway plans.

The fares are not refundable, but can go toward future travel on Southwest, so long as you cancel your reservation β€œat least ten minutes” prior to departure.

The sale comes a day after Southwest announced that it expects to see a 3 percent drop this quarter for per-mile revenue. Southwest has seen fewer bookings since a deadly April 17 incident, in which a jet engine caught fire and sent a piece of shrapnel through a window. The plane’s cabin depressurized and a woman was partially sucked out of the plane. She died from her injuries.
