Community Emergency Response Team Training in October
Emergency preparedness class open to the public.

This is a great opportunity for the residents of Wentzville and surrounding areas! The Wentzville Fire Protection District is hosting Mid America TEEN CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training the weekend of October 13–15, 2023 at the Wentzville Fire Station #3, located at 1146 Clinton Prinster Memorial Drive in Foristell, MO. Scout Troop 968 and the City of Wentzville are organizing this course, so students can learn about disaster preparedness and the hazards that may impact their area. Participants will be trained in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
The 3-day class will take place on Friday 6pm–10pm, Saturday 8am–10pm, and Sunday 8am-12pm. The public is encouraged to attend, as well as scouting troops, and other groups such as American Heritage Girls, 4H, Girl Scouts, and HOSA. The free course is open to both youth at least 12 years old and adult students.
Boy Scouts who complete TEEN CERT, will also have the opportunity to earn their Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Safety, Fire Safety, Disabilities Awareness, Search & Rescue, and Wilderness Survival merit badges.
