  1. Pictograph Cave State Park in Billings will host two free events for Montana residents on Saturday, Jun. 17. From 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Dave Caserio will lead a writing workshop, encouraging participants to draw inspiration from the nature and history embedded in the park. Additionally, from 8:30 p.m. to approximately 11:00 p.m., the Yellowstone Valley Astronomy Association will hold a night sky viewing event for anyone looking to learn more about the Montana sky.   2. This past Thursday, the Billings Fire Department (BFD) welcomed 10 new firefighters to its ranks. The new recruits successfully completed a rigorous 12-week training program in preparation for their work with the BFD, allowing for the deployment of an additional Mobile Response Team this July. The swearing-in ceremony also included two new firefighters with the Lockwood Fire Department. (City of Billings Government via Facebook)
  3. Billings residents can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to continue through today (Monday, Jun. 12). According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain, flooding, and some small hail will be concentrated around the mountains and foothills, with reduced weather activity toward the city proper.   • About an hour outside of Billings, the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary is hosting its Bison Birthday Bash and 40th Anniversary Celebrations on Saturday, Jun. 24. The festivities will run between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and will feature drinks, cake, live auctions, and more. (KULR 8)
  • Heads up, local house hunters! Here are five new properties to hit the Billings real estate market, including a six-bedroom/three-bathroom on Turnberry Circle for $979,900. (Billings Patch)
