- A bill to help form a new high school in Billings has been vetoed after Sen. Chris Friedel, R-Billings, brought the bill to the Senate. The new high school would have combined Elder Grove, Blue Creek, Elysian, and Canyon Creek districts. According to the report, the bill was vetoed as it would increase the tax burden, create inefficiencies, and expand bureaucracy. The next step will be whether legislators vote to override the veto.
