- Montana property owners will soon receive their biennial reappraisals from the state Department of Revenue, with an expectation of increased property taxes due to a thriving real estate market. Missoula city and county officials are considering new approaches to address the rising costs associated with property taxes. Property owners who disagree with their assessment are advised to file an appeal upon receiving their notice to ensure timely consideration. (NBC Montana)
- Well-known documentarian Ken Burns will be in Missoula this week to offer a preview of his upcoming film, "The American Buffalo." The documentary explores the ecological significance of buffalo grazing habits on the Great Plains and their relationship with Indigenous communities. The screening at The Wilma theater today, Jun. 8, at 6:30 p.m. will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Burns, writer Dayton Duncan, producer Julie Dunfey, historian Rosalyn LaPier, and Jason Baldes from the National Wildlife Federation's Tribal Buffalo Program. - Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has expanded its reach to include every county in Montana, offering free books to children aged 5 and younger each month.
