  1. Partnership Health Center, based in Missoula, has joined hands with the International Rescue Committee to offer essential dental services to refugees entering the United States. These services include regular exams, teeth cleanings, and X-rays, addressing the potential lack of access or prior exposure to such dental care among refugees before their arrival in the country. A community health clinic, Partnership Health Center offers a sliding scale fee process and accepts a wide variety of insurers, as well as telehealth interpretation via phone and video.   2. This year's Missoula Marathon will be held on Jun. 25. Named the Best Marathon In the U.S. in 2010 by Runner's World Magazine, and in 2017 and 2018 by The BibRave 100, the Marathon has a number of high-profile participants this year, which includes some Olympic trial qualifiers. (KPAX)
  3. The Missoula County government has allocated $833,000 in funding towards the ongoing efforts to transform the former Clark Fork Inn into a transitional housing center for veterans.Missoula County commissioners have devised a plan to allocate funds from the American Rescue Plan Act towards the transitional housing center project initiated by the Poverello Center. In 2021, the Poverello Center purchased the site with $1 million provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. According to Heidi West, the grants administrator of Missoula County, the project is scheduled to be put out for bidding later in the summer. The aim is to complete the construction and renovations, making the facility fully operational by the end of 2024. (KPAX)
