- The Missoula Public Works and Mobility Department, in collaboration with the Montana Department of Transportation, will be conducting repairs on the Orange Street underpass ramp areas on Jun. 5 and Jun. 6. During this time, northbound traffic on Orange Street will be redirected at Spruce Street between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., while southbound traffic will still have access. Maps for suggested detour routes can be found on the city's website, and it's important to note that North Second Street East is still closed due to a water main replacement project. - Missoula is gearing up for Pride Month with a series of pride-related events scheduled throughout June. The Western Montana LGBTQ+ Community Center, responsible for organizing these events, is seeking volunteers from the community and allies to help make these events a success. Andy Nelson, the executive director of the center, emphasizes the importance of allies showing up and supporting the LGBTQ+ community during these politically challenging times, as pride events serve as a celebration of uniqueness and progress while acknowledging the work that still needs to be done for equality and civil rights. - On May 24 Missoula County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a disorderly male at a fast-food restaurant who was using profanity and yelling at employees. The suspect, identified as Scott Darkes, left the scene in a green Honda Civic. Darkes displayed signs of impairment, refused to cooperate during sobriety tests, and was arrested for felony DUI and disorderly conduct. He had prior DUI convictions and was released on May 30 after posting a $25,000 bond. (News Talk KGVO)
